It has been 8 years since I joined the digital teams at Michelin. What was originally an outsourced digital program to manage turned out to be, over the years, a remarkable human and technological adventure.
Throughout this time, our in-house platform has expanded, and both team expertise and delivery capabilities have grown, enabling us to deploy more than 500 websites of all sizes across the globe, serving multiple business entities and bringing Michelin's digital experience to millions of consumers.
None of this had been planned in advance, yet the vision unfolded harmoniously over the years, staying true to the core tech principles behind our open-source stack. But beyond all the projects delivered, it's the journey to achieve this factory scale-up—and the numerous learnings we take from it—that eventually makes the most value, as we tried to embody this ideal of software craftsmanship.
Every day, I am filled with admiration and gratitude for the blend of passion, expertise, and explorer mindset that my teammates at the Digital Factory infuse into our projects. With the same spirit, we aim to stay ahead of emerging technological challenges, particularly those unlocked by the potential of generative AI.
