Among the exciting connections we had with various stakeholders from London's AI ecosystem, our recent visit to The Alan Turing Institute was a distinct pleasure, and an example of the strategic importance given to AI research in sovereign domains.
Walking through its halls, I was struck by the presence of an Enigma machine at the entrance, a WWII historical artifact whose code-breaking brought together the most brilliant minds during the Bletchley Park epic. It also serves as a reminder of the dual nature of technological advancements: they hold the potential to be used both for the greater or for darker purposes.
